The Complicated Bunny

I’m a complicated bunny,
As my therapist would say,
A nom de plume so fitting,
As I rhyme my merry way,
Along the path of sanity,
With lots of time to play,
I’m a complicated bunny,
Poised to have the final say.

I’m a complicated bunny,
Labels bouncing to and fro,
I love to purge my demons,
Using words and rhyming flow,
I navigate the ups and downs,
You might say I’m a pro,
I’m a complicated bunny,
Looking for a place to go.

I’m a complicated bunny,
And the rabbit hole is deep,
At times it keeps me thinking,
Other times it makes me weep,
It’s frightfully exhausting,
Sliding down into a heap,
I’m a complicated bunny,
And the price I pay is steep.

I’m a complicated bunny,
There’s no better place to be,
Than whiskers deep in poetry,
It keeps me safe and free,
No hiding when the words reveal,
Each mystery, you see,
I’m a complicated bunny,
And I can’t help being me.

I’m a complicated bunny,
And I brawl both day and night,
The shadows who would suffocate,
And keep me locked in fright,
My paws are bloodied from the war,
But still I wield some might,
I’m a complicated bunny,
And I won’t give up the fight.

I’m a complicated bunny,
And I love to stir the pot,
But stew ain’t on the menu,
So I’ll take another shot,
At being brave, at being bold,
I know just what I’ve got,
I’m a complicated bunny,
And my mind is running hot.

I’m a complicated bunny,
With a convoluted soul,
Some days I feel so empty,
I can hardly fill the hole,
That penetrates my heart,
Just like a fiery piece of coal,
I’m a complicated bunny,
Always searching for control.

I’m a complicated bunny,
Often crippled by chagrin,
Some days it crashes through me,
But I take it on the chin,
Too stubborn to surrender,
Cause I may just pull the win,
I’m a complicated bunny,
But you knew this going in.
