Whole

When were you going to tell me?
Society favours the sane
But pages were meant to be written
Through destiny’s heartache and pain

When were you going to show me?
Humanity’s burgeoning debt
A life that’s divorced by brutality forced
And a handful of longing regret

I’m slamming the door to your world
Where the darkness precludes a new day
You can’t trap me in your fiction
I’ve finally found my own way

Running the negatives outta my head
Washing the stains from my soul
I’m chasing the future I dreamed about
Where I can be finally whole

When are you going to see me?
Profanity blocking your view
Intentions were made to bring vision
Through the words and expressions I spew

When are you going to hear me?
A burgeoning silence of truth
Beaten by time, such an intricate crime
To be robbed of a flourishing youth

I’m slamming the door to your world
Where the darkness precludes a new day
You can’t trap me in your fiction
I’ve finally found my own way

Running the negatives outta my head
Washing the stains from my soul
I’m chasing the future I dreamed about
Where I can be finally whole
