Do you ever besiege your emotions
When insanity summons it’s mirth
Your choices in life made to wrestle
Or spin off the face of the earth

Do you ever take stock of reflections
When belligerence hinders your view
Speculation is rife when your soul is in strife
Is the mirror reflecting what’s true

When nobody’s there for your rescue
When nobody’s hearing you scream
You wonder if all that befalls you
Is merely a torturous dream

Obscuring the vision you have of this world
Augmenting the anguish within
It’s hard to embrace the insanity
When your life’s a perpetual spin

Do you ever confide in your feelings
When the world gives you reason to hide
And darkness presents a new weakness
To burden the thoughts you abide

Do you ever converse with your heartbeat
When destiny screws with your plans
It’s hard to let go but essential to grow
Or be stuck in life’s desolate sands
