My story isn’t over ;
There are chapters left to write,
I once was bruised and battered,
From the never ending fight,
Until I found my freedom,
In embracing who I see,
My story isn’t over ;
There are chapters left for me.
My story isn’t over ;
There are wrongs to be set right,
Like healing from the trauma,
That annihilates my night,
But I will not surrender,
To the things that bring me fear,
My story isn’t over ;
There are wrongs to be set clear.
My story isn’t over ;
I have mountains left to climb,
The days of wallowing in gloom,
Disperse with every rhyme,
My views are crystal clear,
They shine a light upon my trail,
My story isn’t over ;
I have mountains left to scale.
My story isn’t over ;
There are challenges to seek,
I used to be a pushover,
But now I’m not so weak,
My strength increases daily,
Where I run my joyful race,
My story isn’t over ;
There are challenges to face.
My story isn’t over ;
There are feelings left to feel,
And verse that must be written,
By a heart that yearns to heal,
My words bequeath a journey,
That has yet to meet it’s end,
My story isn’t over ;
There are feelings left to mend.
My story isn’t over ;
For I know just who I am,
There’s rainbows running through my veins,
My life is surely glam,
I don’t concede to binaries,
My gender is now free,
My story isn’t over ;
For I know just who to be.
