Self Belief Thief

Self belief is just a thief,
That robs you of your dreams,
When no one else believes in you,
And all within you screams,
At loneliness, a frightful mess,
Invading manic streams,
Yes self belief is just a thief,
That haunts you in your dreams.

Hopes and such are just a crutch,
That trap you in your doubt,
There’s no one you can turn to,
When the troubles in you shout,
You fear the chase of life’s rat race,
Where strangers call you out,
Yes hopes and such are just a crutch,
That amplify your doubt.

Love is just a tangled web,
That hangs you out to dry,
With no one left to hold you,
As emotions weep and cry,
For all mistakes leave giant quakes,
That pull apart your why,
Yes love is just a tangled web,
That leaves your spirit dry.

Self belief is just a thief,
That robs you of your dreams,
I thought that you believed in me,
But madness won, it seems,
And in the night, I drown in fright,
For no one hears my screams,
Yes self belief is just a thief,
Which haunts me in my dreams.
