Today

Today was a day,
For a run in the sun,
A day for endorphins,
A day to have fun,
A day to be happy,
A day to just thrive,
Today was a day,
I was gladly alive.

Today was a day,
For a plan to be laid,
A dream to be woven,
A goal to be saved,
A day for a future,
To write a new verse,
A day to be free of,
This treacherous curse.

Today was a day,
To let confidence grow,
To dabble in mirth,
To put on a show,
To laugh yourself silly,
To run yourself hoarse,
Today was a day,
I was aptly on course.

Today was a day,
There was nothing to hide,
A day to feel wanted,
A day to just glide,
A day to feel sunshine,
A day to be free,
Today was a day,
I was glad to be me.
